Matthew LeVac is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist and Assistive Technology Specialist. He holds a Master of Science degree from A.T Stills University and a Certificate in Assistive Technology from Northern Arizona University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Corporate Fitness and Wellness with a Minor in Athletic Coaching from Grand Canyon University. At GCU, Matthew was part of the Antelopes baseball team from 2007-2009. He began his career as an Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility in Fountain Hills. He then found is his passion working with student with exceptional needs at ACCEL. Matthew has been working directly with students and children with exceptional needs since 2015. He has a passion for creating unique assistive technology solutions with 3D printers and also serves as the Arizona Chapter Leader for Makers Making Change. A Canadian non-profit that connects AT users and professionals with makers around the US and Canada. He has initiated outreach programs with high school and university students with engineering backgrounds to build and create assistive technology. He is a judge for the Makers of Change Challenge through Southwest Human Development. An annual challenge that engages high school STEM teams to create assistive technology. He has also presented at various statewide conferences to bridge the gap between Makers and AT users and professionals. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two young boys.
